After a slow start the Lady Dinos are starting to find a rhythm. They have moved their record to 5-5 now with a 51-45 win over former region foe, North Sanpete, on Tuesday night.

Carbon's Tia Pappas may have set a high school record as she picked the pocket of the Hawks all night and came away with 19 steals.

She had six before the Dinos were out of the first quarter alone. Carbon was able to hit many fast break points.

That helped set the tone for a big first half for the Dinos as they found themselves sitting on a nine point lead as they headed to the locker room.

North Sanpete protected the ball better in the second half of play and made a run at it in the second half. Carbon struggled at the free throw line hitting a little over 50% of their shots.

Lucky for them, they went to the line much more often than the Hawks.

In the fourth quarter, as North Sanpete tightened up the game, Pappas fouled out. But for Carbon, the guards who remained knew what they had to do to close it out and secure the win.

Pappas was the leading score for the game as she put in 15 points to go along with her 19 steals.

She was named Carbon player of the game. Kylee Lessar and Sara Potts pulled in six boards and Amanda Freestone grabbed nine.
