PRICE-Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all, Max Leroy Wayman, passed away peacefully Dec. 10, 2009 in Price at the age of 88.
He was born in Castle Dale on Aug. 4, 1921 to Robert H. and Blanche Christensen Wayman.
Married Jeri Mortensen in 1941, sealed for eternity in the Manti Temple in 1965, they later divorced. Married Ruth Anderson Patterson in the Manti Temple for time in 1978.
Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Max had strong work ethic and worked hard all his life. He sheared sheep, served in CCC, helped build the B-29 bomber base at Wendover during World War II, and then began a long career in the coal mines. He was a dedicated member of the United Mine Workers of America working at Hiawatha, Castle Gate, and at Kaiser Mine in Sunnyside for 33 years before retiring.
Max loved his toys (especially his motorcycles), the outdoors, visiting his friends at the senior center, traveling with friends to the warm south in the winter, and spending summers in a cabin at Scofield. His dogs were special to him: Peggy Sue and Mini Pearl miss him in their own Chichuahua way.
