Health care reform is needed

By Susan Sherman
Huntington

Editor,

Health care reform will increase access to high value, affordable health care for millions of women. It is imperative we pass real reform this year. Outlawing coverage for abortion which is a legal, medical procedure is discriminatory and it hurts women. Leave the decision to have an abortion where it ought to be, between a woman and her doctor. This amendment is a desperate act by conservatives to kidnap health care and legislate on reproductive rights.

We need to focus on health care reform and the millions of Americans who desperately need it. Outlawing coverage for a legal medical procedure should not be in the bill.
