A crash in Spanish Fork Canyon near Red Narrows took the life of a Price woman on Saturday.

Iris Howe, 58, was killed when the pickup truck she and two others were riding in rolled over on snow packed roads.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol the accident happened near milepost 193. The other two occupants of the vehicle were relatively uninjured.

Howe was known in local circles as 'Cowboy Murder'n Maude' as part of her persona in the local cowboy action shooting group, The Castle Gate Posse, that holds their shooting festivals monthly at the North Springs Shooting Range. She had been one of the biggest proponents concerning the construction of the range three years ago.

The late model Ford pickup the trio was riding in was westbound on Highway 6 about 8:30 a.m. when the accident occurred. She was wearing her seat belt and was not reportedly thrown from the vehicle.
