K. Renee Barlow, Curator of Archaeology at the College of Eastern Utah Prehistoric Museum, has been published in the journal, "Tree-Ring Research" along with Ronald H. Towner, Matthew W. Salzer and James A. Parks all of the Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research, University of Arizona, Tucson, Ariz.

Barlow is the museum's full time curator of archaeology and the overseer of their archaeological collections. She contributed text, maps and images to the paper that addresses the importance of past human behavior in dendroarchaeological research.

The paper deals with examples from Range Creek and Nine Mile Canyons.

Barlow has executed extensive studies in the Range Creek Canyon. It has been the primary focus of her endeavors for eight years. Much can be learned from studies in the canyon.

Fortunately, the canyon remained as a well-preserved treasure trove at the hands of Waldo Wilcox until it was sold to the BLM in 2001 and then sold to the state of Utah in 2004. Studies began in the canyon in 2002.
