Fresh Market now open in Price

Fresh Market Grocery is now open in Price and will offer Associated Foods brands. The market is located in the former Albertson's store by 100 N. The change in ownership has not resulted in any job losses. Although the building is still labeled as Albertson's, according to store director, Dick Raich, the transition has been smooth and is nearly complete.
The Fresh Market brand is a new chain that is based and owned in Utah. In terms of a business plan, specifics are not available.
"We're happy to be able to bring a new value to the Price market," said Raich. "It's been a complete product line change. We've extended the Western Family brands to the area, increasing specialty foods with our new suppliers."
Across Utah, the Fresh Market brand has 34 stores, many of them former Albertson's. The brand is managed in Salt Lake. While Associated Foods services over 500 stores, Fresh Market is a coordinated group. The store hopes to provide new items in the deli market, as well as meals that are ready to eat.
"Our intent is to be a locally- operated grocery and RX store that provides great service to our area," said Raich.
Associated Foods was founded as a company in 1940. It is based in Salt Lake and operates primarily in the western United States.
According to the company, "Associated Food Stores champions the cause of independent supermarket owners and is the only independent wholesale distributor headquartered in the intermountain west, employing over 1,400 people and shipping over 750 truckloads of groceries each week."
