Only facing one conference team this weekend CEU volleyball hosted Morton College from Illinois on Friday to keep their skills sharp Then they hosted CNCC on Saturday to pick up another conference win. CEU easily handled the Illinois team 25-7,25-9 and 25-9. CNCC only put up a slightly better fight as the Lady Eagles swept them 25-8, 25-19 and 25-19.

There was not much to say about the Friday match-up with Morton College. The Eagles were hitting on all cylinders and Morton was not. Barbara Jardim hit eight kills in 10 attempts and didn't even play all three games. The team had 36 kills with seven different players racking at least one up. Julia Potts smoked the visitors with seven service aces and Sabrina Simas added six.

On Saturday, CEU continued their hot streak as they quickly downed conference opponent CNCC 25-8. The final two games were a bit closer, but the Eagles had control of the match the entire way. Megan Garvin led the way with eight kills. Potts continued her good serving with another four service aces. Jardim made her presence felt with 14 defensive digs.

The Eagles are currently in fourth place in the SWAC with a 2-3 record. SLCC, NIC, and CSI all sit at 4-1. Snow trails CEU in fifth at 1-4 and CNCC sits in the cellar at 0-5.

CEU takes to the highway next weekend to play Snow on Friday and then Salt Lake Community College on Saturday.
