CEU telescope to come back to life again
Patrick Wiggins, NASA/Jet Propulsion Labratories solar system ambassador to Utah, checks out the 12.5 inch telescope located in the observatory on top of the McDonald Career Center on the College of Eastern Utah campus. Wiggins, along with associate Bruce Grim were in town to help get the telescope back in operation after years of not being used. The telescope and observatory were built in the 1970's and were used extensively for years. Wiggins, who is probably the most well known astronomer in Utah ,was asked by Richard Erwin, the professor that teaches astronomy at the college, to help out with getting the instrument back on line. With a little cleaning and adjustment it appears the telescope will be available for use soon.
