On Saturday, Sept. 12, the members of the Carbon County wing of the Utah Civil Air Patrol (CAP), which is an auxiliary of the Air Force, hosted an open house for members of the community. The purpose of this open house was to aide in air crew training and to boost membership of the local squadron. The mission of the CAP, as explained by Mike Atwood from the Salt Lake City, is: the cadet program - for ages 12-21 - which teaches leadership skills and military etiquette, aerospace education and emergency services.
