Lightning strikes Westwood area of Carbon County

A lightning strike Monday afternoon destroyed a tree in front of a Westwood area home near Ranch Road, sending large pieces of wooden debris more than 100 feet away from the blast. Surprisingly the incident, which apparently spooked a number of neighbors, seems to have left the home unscathed.
