FERRON - John E. Ciarus, age 74, passed away Sept. 9, 2009. John was born on Jan. 23, 1935, in Mutual to James and Yolanda Burraco Ciarus. He married Janice Fe Funk on July 22, 1972, in Ferron. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on Jan. 17, 1976.
John served his country in the U.S. Navy for four years. He was active in the LDS Church and held several positions. Some of his favorite interests were animals, traveling and ceramics.
He is survived by his wife, Janice; four daughters: Valerie (Brent) Pierce, Huntington, Shelia (Gary) Beck Omaha, Neb., Kathleen Ciarus, Minnesota, and Stephanie (Abel) Maarse, Murray; one brother, Gene (Glenda) Ciarus of Moab, Utah; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Roger Ciarus; and two brothers, Joseph Ciarus and James Ciarus.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Noon at the Millsite LDS Ward Chapel. Interment was at the Ferron City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guest book and share memories of John at www.fausettmortuary.com.
