Letter to the editor: Slumber on
I have left politics to someone else thinking I wasn't educated enough nor corrupt enough to participate in it. I threw my vote away voting independent since the Vietnam War. The last twenty-one years has worried me into action, especially the last nine years. I haven't been able to understand why we're going in debt, sacrificing our youths, giving control of our government to a government such as China by selling them our Treasury Bonds.
I thought that the Vietnam war did more to make me realize that our interests, the American people's interests, were not being served until we went into the Iraq War. Now I really don't know why we have been in a war for the last nine years at a time when we're broke and have to borrow financing for it from our enemy, China. I don't know what I expected to change?
The newspaper and TV newscasters have been the sum of my political education until the last few years. The newspapers are only reporting that which they have a vested interest in and the TV casters the same except Fox and some of the radio talk-show hosts.
I am definitely not from the computer generation but two years ago I purchased a computer, and found the Internet and the abundance of knowledge available. After exploring subjects like Capitalism, Marxism, Socialism, Communism, Progressivism, Masons and the one World Order, I really got more than terrorized. I'm afraid we are no longer in control of our beloved country and if we don't do something quick to get it back, it may be irreversible. We have a few people on our airways that are trying to alert us and direct us to action to peacefully restore our control.
The last seven months have taken me beyond terror. Where do I go from here? The most unbelievable realization is that our representatives are letting it happen. I never knew that a communist could be on the American government payroll. Where is our Attorney General? Where is Congress? Is there not one of them that will call for an investigation? Last November our president told us we were in such crisis that immediate action had to be taken. I'm no genius but why was he suddenly surprised? Didn't he and the genius' at the head of banking, Congress, housing, economy, finances, and the war know there was a crisis before? Our president called an emergency one month before the general election that interrupted the election and turned the momentum of the polls against what normally would have been assumed was going in favor of his Republican party's candidates.
I left my country in the hands of the educated ones. They were smart all right; smart, crooked, evil and un-American.
I decided it was time I educated myself. I'm sure there are a lot of people like me from the size of the crowds at the tea parties, town hall meetings and hopefully the nine-twelve march to Washington. I wish I could be there but I'm in a wheelchair. However I can express my support with this letter and spread the word on the Internet and by speaking with my friends and neighbors. If they don't agree, that's the ones I really need to voice my feelings to. I don't want to be asked someday, "Why didn't you warn me?"
If you're not afraid we're loosing control of our American Government, our Republic, then sleep on and when you wake up to a real nightmare and you may not recognize the America you knew before your slumber.
Please don't slumber on.
