Sun Advocate sports reporter

The Carbon High soccer team opened region play in Roosevelt against Union. The score ended up 5-1 to Union. But the game itself may be moot as for whatever reason, Union was only able to secure one ref for the game and the rules state two or more officials must be present for it to be an official region game.

The game was played with fans from Roosevelt pulled off the side lines to help out and it was an ugly affair with yellow cards given to coaches and Carbon fans. Coach Jerad Upwall stated his team didn't play their best because it was difficult to do so with the lack of proper officiating and they just "kinda gave up."

Upwall is hoping the game will be replayed at a later time.
