At approximately 1:30 a.m. the Uintah County Sheriff's Department responded to Steinaker State Park campground on a report a fight was going on in the area.

The second man who was with Gomez was not found to be involved in the assaults.
Both the victims were transported to the Ashley Regional Medical Center for treatment.
