According to a late report on Wednesday afternoon, Congressman Jim Matheson will not run for Senate against Senator Bob Bennett, but instead will seek another term as a second district congressman from Utah. Speculation in the last few months has had it that Matheson was prepared to go after the Democractic nomination for the Senate seat, but his announcement on Wednesday dispelled that rumor.
