SURPRISE, Ariz. - Edna Kathryn Toson Williams, 93, peacefully passed away July 12, 2009 surrounded by her loving family in Sun City West, Ariz.
She is once again in the loving arms of her husband, Reginald C. Williams, who preceded her in death March 2008 after 65 years of marriage.
Born Jan. 5, 1916 in Dawson, N.M. Prior to living near her daughter, Shannon, the last seven years of her life in Surprise, Ariz., she was a longtime resident of Helper and Salt Lake City.
She was a mom in the truest sense of the word. Her home, husband, children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters were her life.
Mom could always be found cooking in her kitchen where everyone was always welcomed with warmth.
Her culinary skills could only be beat by her great sense of humor, tremendous love of her family and her love of dancing.
She will be sorely missed by her three children and their spouses, Reg A. (Yvonne) Ypsilanti, Mich.; Shannon Warren (Marvin) Surprise, Ariz.; and Edward R. (Laurie) Brighton, Colo. She was known and loved as Nanny by her seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers. Her last sibling, Rose Orrell, is a resident in Salt Lake City.
A graveside service will be July 25 at 11 a.m. at the Helper cemetery. A luncheon will follow to celebrate her life at St. Anthony of Padua in Helper.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Hospice of Arizona, 19702 N Routzahn Way, Sun City West, AZ 85375.
