The Utah Summer Games hosted their annual swim meet on June 18, 19 and 20. The local community Barracuda swim team had five local swimmers compete who did extremely well with everyone taking home a hand full of medals.

The youngest Barracuda to participate was Alisann Heath (11) on her second year swimming at the summer games, she brought home a silver in the 50 and 100 butterfly. She also earned a bronze in the 400 free.

Jacob Mantz (21) swam in one of the most competitive age groups. He brought home gold in the 200 fly, 100 breast and the 50 breast. He also earned silver in the 100 fly, 100 free, 200 breast and 50 free. Mantz finished things off with a bronze in the 200 free.

Jennifer Cluff (31) was very excited and nervous because she hadn't competed since high school. But she returned to competition with a bang, taking home gold in the 100 free, 400 free, 50 free and 50 breast. She also garnered a silver the 50 fly.

Kamra Davis (33) competed for her third year in the summer games. She took the gold in the 1500 free (the mile swim), 400 I.M, 200 back, 100 back, 50 back, 200 breast, and 100 breast. She also earned a silver in the 200 I.M.

The final swimmer was Shelly Heath (36). Heath, who hasn't competed since she was thirteen, trained extremely hard to compete this year.

"It like I had to learn to swim all over again," she said. It obviously paid off because Heath brought home gold in the 400 free and 200 free, and also earned silver in the 50 breast, 100 free and 50 free.

"We had so much fun and hope more local swimmers will participate next year," said Barracuda Coach Kamra Davis when the group returned home.
