Local man takes large bear in Whitmore Canyon

Paul Martinez sits with his dogs behind a large bear that he took in Whitmore Canyon above Sunnyside. Martinez has been building a cabin in the area and the bear often passed through the construction site and was very aggressive. He said the bear walked more like a Grizzly than a Black Bear, and was at minimum 20 years old. It had a lot of teeth missing and most of the others were ground down to the gums.
