SCOFIELD - Santa Gorishek, age 98, of Scofield, Carbon County, passed away on May 27, 2009 in Bountiful.

Santa "Nonie" was born Aug. 7, 1910 in Scofield to Phillip and Celestina Bertoni Elardo. Married Louis F. Gorishek Sept. 22, 1933 in Price; he passed away on Nov. 3, 1979.

Santa and her husband owned and operated Gooses Mt. Tavern in Scofield, where they made many lifelong friends.

Even after she could no longer stay in Scofield by herself, Scofield to her was always home.

She is survived by her son and daughter, Louis (Penny) Gorishek and Louette (Bill) Page; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Phil Gorishek; sisters, Mae Nicolodemos, Catherine Rudman, Josephine Zuber, Madelyn Allred; and brother, Joseph Elardo.

The family would like to thank the nurses and aids who cared for Santa, especially Kari.

Funeral Mass Tuesday, June 2, 10 a.m., St. Anthony Catholic Church in Helper.  Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main Street in Price, Monday evening and Tuesday morning from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Committal service, Price City Cemetery.
