PRICE/LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Dolores P. Vanderlinden, 69, passed away in Las Vegas, Nev., surrounded by her loving family on May 28, 2009.
She was born March 7, 1940 in Murray to Samuel J and Norma Pedro.
Dolores was an accomplished flautist and received a music scholarship to the University of Utah, where she met her future husband, Ralph, in the marching band. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 26, 1959. They raised five children.
Dolores was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings over the years.
She enjoyed playing sports.But most of all, she enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in not only sports, but in any activity they pursed. She was their biggest fan and supporter.
She was loved dearly by her husband, who took care of her every need, especially the last few years of her life. Their dedication and care for each other was a testament to their children of what true love really is.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel J and Norma Pedro. She is survived by her husband, Ralph, of nearly 50 years; sons, Eric (LaneAnn) Vanderlinden, Centreville, Md.; Stewart (Kathy) Vanderlinden, Las Vegas, Nev.; Shaun (JoRetta) Vanderlinden, Las Vegas, Nev.; daughters, Trista (Deven) Zohner, Las Vegas, Nev.; Ann (Paul) Anderson, Price; 15 grandchildren and 12 four-legged grandchildren; siblings Harrison (LaRee) Pedro and Louise Miller.
Viewing will be Friday, June 5, from 9 to 10-30 a.m. at Goldfield & Hammer LDS Chapel, 100 E Hammer Lane, North Las Vegas, Nev. Funeral services will follow. Graveside services will be at 1:20 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nev. Services provided by Bunkers Mortuary.
