PRICE/Washington - Raymond Victor "Sonny" Turner Jr., age 56, passed away May 6, 2009 at his home in Four Lakes, Wash.
He was born on June 8, 1952 in Oakland, Calif., to Raymond Victor Turner Sr. and Jacqueline Lassiter Turner.
Sonny had several passions and talents in life. He was an excellent cook and was musically talented. He loved playing the guitar. His musical and cooking talents were passed down to many of his children and grandchildren.
Sonny was very patriotic and was honored to have served in the U.S. Navy. He was a loyal Republican and proud to defend his political views.
Sonny grew up in southern California and he loved the ocean. He enjoyed stock car racing, horseback riding and riding motorcycles. He also loved animals.
On Jan. 29, 1970, he married Karyn Rachiele and had two children, Kelli Marie and Raymond "Victor" Turner III. Later divorced. On July 8, 1978, he married Nora Watson and had nine children, Amanda Elizabeth, Jacqueline Joyce, Matthew Louis, Audrie Megon, Phillip Eugene, Joshua Douglas, Angella Elnora, Wendi Rae Kathleene and Bruce Wayne. Later divorced. In 1999, he married Jana Judd. Later divorced. On March 30, 2002, he married Theresa Moore and shared four children, Adam, Rebecca, Samantha and Jessica.
Sonny was survived by wife, Theresa; 11 children; four stepchildren; 27 grandchildren; parents and stepmother, Laurie; sister, Vallye Clark; brothers, Bruce and Jim McNeil; and nephews, Jerry, Kenny and Jimmy Clark. He was preceded in death by grandparents and his sister, Elizabeth "Beth" Downs.
A memorial service was May 12 in Washington. His burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery on June 5.
