PRICE/CHINO, Calif. - Our dear mom, grandma, Nanny, great-grandma, aunt and friend, Lucinne Mary Maricich, passed away April 28, 2009 in Chino, Calif., surrounded by her loving family.
Mom was born May 28, 1924 to Bernard F. Krezmer and Tillie Polarski Krezmer in Chicago, Ill. She resided there until shortly she married the love of her life, George J. Maricich, on May 31, 1947 and they moved to San Diego, Calif.
They moved to Price in 1963, where she was a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church and a strong supporter of Notre Dame School.
They returned to San Diego, Calif., in 1968.
Mom was a stay-at-home mom who dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She kept a tidy home which always had the scent of fresh lemon oil polish and cakes baking.
Her special fluffy frosting was always a request on birthdays.
After the "nest" was empty, Mom took up ceramics and painting. She loved to share her "works of art" with family and friends. These lovely gifts are displayed in all of our homes.
Mom was always there for her children. We knew we could call her anytime with a problem and she would listen and guide us along the right track. In the toughest of times she would even hop a plane (though flying was her least favorite thing to do) and be there for us.
Mom loved music, dancing and laughter.
Even after she couldn't speak anymore, you would see her keeping beat to the music with her hand.
We're going to miss all the fun times with you, Mom.
She is survived by her five children, Mary Ann Atkin, Ogden; Suzanne (David) Cartright, Price; Dianne (Casey) Hanrahan, Las Vegas, Nev.; Carol Ann (Gary) Hofmann, Chino, Calif.; and Michael (Anne) Maricich, Redondo Beach, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Dad preceded Mom in death on Dec. 29, 2008.
Funeral Mass was said for her at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Santee, Calif. She was laid to rest next to our Dad on May 6 at Fort Roscrans National Cemetery, Point Loma, Calif.
We miss you both so much, but we know you are in God's Hands and happy to be together again.

Do you think the Utah Legislature should increase appropriations for public education in Utah beyond the current legislative trend in the past few years of funding only for growth in student population?
