IVINS - Beth Jensen Henzi passed away in Ivins May 10, 2009 of Alzheimer's disease.
She was born Jan. 6, 1924 in Cleveland to Edward Christian Jensen and Maude Eden Jensen.
She graduated from North Emery High School in May 1942, where she served as studentbody president and valedictorian.
She joined the U.S. Marine Corps on Jan. 7, 1944 and was honorably discharged Jan.18, 1946.
She married Walter Ernst Henzi Dec.13, 1947 in Cleveland. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Beth attended LDS Business College and worked for many years for the IRS in Ogden.
Following retirement, the couple moved from Layton to Ivins, where Beth worked for several years as a volunteer tax preparer.
Beth is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Walt, who became her full-time caregiver during her long illness; her six children, Diann (Kent) Fryer, Janell (Clay) Perschon, Jill (Randy) Voss, Mark (Anna) Henzi, Cara (Tim) Bradshaw and Todd (Cindy) Henzi; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Leora Leamaster; and three brothers, Edwin "Ted" Jensen, Glen Jensen and Roy Jensen. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers.

Graveside services with military honors will be May 16 at 12:30 p.m. preceding interment at Castle Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon at Fausett Mortuary, 710 N. Center Street, Castle Dale. Arrangements under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary.
