Arch Coal recognizes Wellington Elementary teacher with achievement award

Carol Carlson celebrates with Wellington Elementary students after receiving one of Arch Coal's five teacher achievement awards. Arch Coal's president and chief operating officer, John Eaves announced the company's award recipients at the Carbon County school on April 28. Dixie Allen, state school boardmember, and Mark Mickelsen, Utah Education Association director, participated in the presentation ceremony on Tuesday. In addition to Carlson, the company recognized Benjamin Cox from North Sanpete High, Lars Johnson from Gunnison Valley High, Teri McElprang from Huntington Elementary and Deborah Morgan from North Sevier Middle School. The outstanding teacher honorees received trophies, classroom plaques and $3,500 personal cash awards.
