SUNNYSIDE - Lawrence Eugene McManus, 75, passed away April 10, 2009.
He was born March 8, 1934 in Delta, Colo., To Ambrose and Bertha McManus.
He served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany.
After serving in the Army, he worked in the coal mines in Latuda and Sunnyside.
One of his hobbies was working with horses. Besides pleasure horses, he had several race horses and did a lot of traveling with them.
When he retired from the mine, he bought a place in Browns Place, a place he loved. He spent the rest of his life there, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by siblings, Margaret (Jack) Stone, Betty (Bill) Millgate, Virginia (Dave) Keaggy, Barbara (Don) Jackson, Leon (Sheren) McManus and Evelyn (Mike) Munson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles McManus (Sandra); nephew, Randy McManus Jr.; and niece, Kip McManus.
Services will be Friday, April 24, at noon in the LeDore Hall at lower Browns Park.
