Oddly colored sky strikes Castle Valley

A redish, pinkish, orangish colored sky covering Carbon and Emery counties last Wednesday afternoon drew the attention of many local residents. The phenonmenon took place at 3:30 p.m. long before sunset. The wind storm that had been blasting the area all day had been picking up dirt from the Moab area where a dust storm at about 3 p.m. inundated Grand County. The dust coming from the south then colored the skies over eastern Utah.
