Dino's baseball scores region win
By TERRY WILLIS Sun Advocate sports reporter
A slow start and a big finish sums up the Dinos first region match-up of the season.
Carbon traveled over the mountain to take on the Delta Rabbits and ran away with a 14-6 win.
Delta actually took an early lead. They scored a run in each of the first three innings and then looked like they were on their way to an easy victory with a three run fourth to go up 6-0.
Carbon Pitcher Josh Dennison gave up the six runs before settling down to finish off the game without allowing another run.
It wasn't until the sixth inning before Carbon began making their move. They put up four runs in that inning and were only facing a two run deficit as they took their final time at bats. But two runs to tie it up weren't enough for the Dinos as they exploded for seven in the final inning to cruise to their first region win.
Keny Seals had four RBI's and had a double to help the cause. Hayden Basinger also had a two bagger. Daniel Peczuh sent one over the fence in the seventh and Beau Rich added a triple.
Coach Troy Moynier was happy with the offensive show from so many of his players.
"We just need to avoid the slow start next time," he added.
The Dinos have a home game on Friday against Salem Hills on the carbon High field at 3:30 p.m.
