The Sun Advocate reported on March 5, that the Pinnacle Canyon boys basketball team took second place in the Utah School Sports Alliance state championship game. But due to some rule considerations, Pinnacle has now been named co-champions of the league along with Rockwell High School. During the tourney Pinnacle's leading scorer, was disqualified for the championship game. However, after a review of the league rules, it was stipulated that he had been disqualified without merit. The league then set up a rematch of the state title game between Rockwell and Pinnacle at Utah Valley University. But Rockwell refused to play due to various reasons, said Pinnacle Head Basketball Coach Jeff Bowen. At the end of the season Pinnacle's record with Rockwell was 3-1, their only loss coming when the team's leading scorer was not allowed to play.
