COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Beloved mother and grandmother, Geraldine "Jerri" Ferguson Gessey, 87, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009.
She was born Dec. 9, 1921 in Clawson to George and Nadine Blackburn Ferguson Sr.
Jerri graduated from Henegar Business School in Salt Lake City.
She worked at various jobs in her life, but most enjoyed working in the nursing profession with many private doctors' offices and hospitals in Utah and California.
She enjoyed crafts and tole painting, sharing her many talents with her family and friends.
As an excellent seamstress, she made wedding dresses for her daughters and many beautiful dresses for her granddaughters.
She was a devoted mother to her five children.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Marion) Harvey, Northridge Calif., daughters, Janey (Louis) Hardy of Pleasant Grove, and Kathy (Jim) Ward of Coeur d' Alene Idaho; grandchildren, Don Scott Harvey; Julie Smith; Sheila Christensen; Brian and Carrie Harvey; Brett, Steven, Adam, Scott, Angelee and AJ Hardy; Brad Ward; Kelly Parich; 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Scott, Kent and George "Red" Ferguson Jr.; sons, Boyd and Bryon Harvey.
Services were Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Hayden Lake LDS Stake Center in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. Yates Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
The family would like to express deep appreciation to By The Lake Assisted Living for their loving care of our mother and to North Idaho Hospice for their compassion and dedication.
