Deadline for FYI - is Tuesday at noon. Submissions may be sent by regular mail, dropped off at the office at 845 East Main in Price or emailed to fyi@sunad.com. All items are subject to editing. Western Mining and Railroad Museum - Located at 296 South Main in Helper, the museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. For information, Castle Valley residents may contact the museum at 472-3009.

American Cancer Society Daffodil Days - Residents may order flowers through Feb. 27. For information, contact Mae Aguayo at 637-3671.

St. Patrick's Day dance - will be presented March 13 from 7 until 9 p.m. at the senior citizens center in Price. Open to residents of all ages, the event will feature Music of the Heart, refreshments and door prizes. Donations suggested.

Carbon County Triad - meets the first Wednesday of the month at 1:30 p.m. at the Price public safety dispatch center.Members focus on law enforcement and aging programs to assist the elderly.

Relay for Life - The fundraising event is slated in June.

Immunization clinic hours - Clinics are scheduled at Southeastern Utah Health District Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. For information, contact the public health department at 637-3671.

Women's cancer screening - Women 50 years of age or older may qualify for free breast and cervical cancer exams and mammograms.Women ages 40 to 49 may qualify for a low-cost exam. For information, call the public health district at 637-3671.

Carbon County Animal Shelter - AVID chip pet identification is available at the shelter. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Food handlers classes - Two-hour sessions are scheduled March 17 at 9 a.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Southeastern Utah Health District in Price. Classes will also be taught March 18 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the health department in Castle Dale. Test fees required. Carbon County Family Support and Children's Justice Center - offers crisis care for families with children from infants to 11 years old. The crisis nursery is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Residents may use the nursery for respite, doctor and mental health appointments, court appearances, medical emergencies, family crisis, support meetings, divorce classes and to escape domestic violence. Parenting classes are scheduled Thursday at 1:30 p.m. For information, call the center at 637-0281.

Price library - Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., closed Saturday and Sunday. Story time is scheduled Monday at 11 a.m. for toddlers, Tuesday and Wednesday at 5 p.m. and Thursday at 1 p.m. English as a second language classes are Monday and Thursday at 6 p.m. Basic literacy classes are scheduled as needed. Helper library - Hours are Monday through Thursday, noon to 6 p.m.; Friday, noon to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The library offers Internet accessible computers and will obtain books for patrons through the inter-facility loan program. Contact the library at 472-5601.

CEU Library - Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; closed Saturday; and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Hours vary during holiday weekends, school breaks and summer semesters. Contact the library at 613-5209.
