TAYLORSVILLE - Kenji "Ken" Haraguchi, 60, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, as a result of complications from diabetes and heart disease.

Ken was born on Jan. 25, 1948 in Price to Catherine and George Haraguchi.

Graduated from Carbon High School.

Ken served in the U. S. Army in Korea from 1968 to 1971.

Retired from Qwest Communications in 2002 after 30 years of faithful service.

Survived by brother, Henry Haraguchi; dear friends Carly and Barbara Burton and family; and Gary and Barbara Pearce and family; and several nephews and nieces.

Ken will be best remembered for his generosity, his loyalty to friends and his willingness to help others in need.

He touched so many people in his life and he was the greatest example of what a true friend should be.

His great passion in life was fishing and he spent much of his fishing time on the Strawberry River, Huntington Creek, Scofield and Strawberry reservoirs.

He was a master at tying flies and took great joy in giving flies to all of his fishing friends.

A memorial service will be Saturday, Jan. 31, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, located at 4615 S. 3200 West, West Valley.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Shriner's Hospital for crippled children are suggested.
