PRICE - Our loving mother, wife, grandmother, daughter and sister, Dodie Lynn Harris, age 51, returned home Jan. 7, 2009 at the Parkdale Care Center in Price.
She was born July 28, 1957 in Mt. Pleasant to Henry Lee Cole and Thera Lou Nielsen Gillies. She married Brian Harris on May 8, 1982.
Dodie enjoyed listening to country music, camping, fishing and dancing. She especially loved being with her family and Skatie, her dog.
Her smile always filled a room with warmth and joy. Her laugh was the most beautiful sound and very contagious.
She collected angels and now is among them.
She was a resilient woman who suffered with MS for over 18 years. Her loving husband, Brian Harris, took care of her at home for many of those years.
She is survived by the love of her life, Brian Harris; four children, Jenefer Patterson of Arizona, Shawn Richmond of Sandy, Amy Harris of Price and Danielle Harris of Price; parents, Thera Lou and Lynn Gillies of Fairfield; in-laws, Bill and Frances Harris of East Carbon; five grandchildren; and four sisters, Chris (Bob) Trumble of Tooele, Barbara Lilly of Fairfield, Connie (Geremy) King of Eagle Mountain and Bonnie (Travis) Walsh of Eagle Mountain. She was preceded in death by her father; grandfather, Ray Nielsen; and son, Christopher John Richmond.
A memorial service will be Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 11 a.m. at Fausett Mortuary, 680 E. 100 South, Price. Friends and family may gather one hour prior to the memorial service at the mortuary.
Dodie's family would like to take this time to thank Parkdale Care Center for years of wonderful care given to her and also extend their thanks to Rocky Mountain Hospice.
