PRICE/LEHI - Joan Ellison Jones, age 79, passed away on Dec. 29, 2008 in Provo.
She was born to Alfred Ray and Emma Alida Bates Ellison on Nov. 19, 1929 in American Fork.
She grew up in American Fork and graduated from American Fork High School in 1948. She served a mission to the northwestern states in 1950.Â
She married Clifford E. Jones on Oct. 27, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They are the parents of four children.
She lived in Price, where she was active in the community.
Joan sang with a double trio and played the violin on many occasions.
She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in various callings. Joan enjoyed serving with her sweetheart, Cliff, in the family church history mission. She enjoyed serving in the Provo and Mount Timpanogos LDS temples.
She loved her family and cherished family dinners and barbecues.
Survived by her husband, Cliff; sons, Allen (Lynette) Jones, Lehi; Kent (Gina) Jones, American Fork; Mark (Ruth) Jones, Kaysville; daughter, Annette (Bill) Gibson, Price; 25 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 5, at the Dry Creek LDS Ward Chapel, Lehi. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery, under the direction of Wing Mortuary.
