PRICE - Wayne M. Hunt, age 80, passed away Dec. 20, 2008 from complications of amyladosis.
He was born Aug. 8, 1928 in Price to Moroni and Delta Cook Hunt. Married Nina Nason on Sept. 9, 1950 in Helper.
Wayne served in the U.S. Army in Germany for two years in which he was a staff driver for a general.
Wayne worked for UDOT for 32 years for which he was a field engineer. His last major job was opening Billy's Mountain after the slide. Upon retirement, he enjoyed many trips to Quartzite, Lake Powell, and prospecting in the desert with family and friends.
Grandpa was a great fan of the Utah Jazz and watching his grandkids play sports.
Wayne and Nina were happily married for 58 years and, through this union, six children were born.
He is survived by his wife, Nina; children, Roger W. Hunt of Price; Vincent M. (Jen) Hunt of Salem; Jeff Hunt of Price; Lois (Chuck) Belzar of Carson City, Nev.; Tamela Hunt of Grand Junction, Colo.; Debbie (Richard) Feador of Henderson, Nev.; special friend, Merrillee Hunt of Helper; 15 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and his little pomeranian dog, Teddy. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Lucille Goodsell, Enid Munk; and brother, Clayton Hunt.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 11 a.m. at the Price 2nd LDS Ward, 449 North 100 East. A viewing will be Tuesday, Dec. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary, 680 E. 100 South, Price, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Price City Cemetery.
