The preseason wins continue to pile up for the Lady Dinos, with latest victim being Uintah last Thursday night.

They crushed the Utes 61-20 as they continued to roll over anyone who got in their way. Carbon now is the number one ranked 3A team in the state. Emery is sitting in the number five slot and looks to give the Dinos a run for their money again in region action.

Fouls plagued the team early as they tried to contain the Utes. Uintah scored all but two of their 14 points off the free throw line in the first half.

"It was frustrating. We were in the bonus before the end of the first quarter and double bonus before the half. That doesn't happen very often," expressed coach Carlson.

Up 26-14 at the half, Carbon poured it on in the third with a 15-5 scoring run. Uintah only managed a pair of points the rest of the game.

Thankfully for the Utes, the score could have been much worse. Carbon took a lot of shots in the first half of play, but only was hitting 39 percent. They settled it down in the second half of play and sunk 55 percent. The same was true for the Dinos from the line. In the first half they only managed to hit 33 percent of their free throws. In the second half, 69 percent.

Julia Potts led the Dinos with 15 points and six steals. She hit two out of three shots from beyond the arc. Samantha Smith was also in double figures with 10. Tia Pappas ruled the boards as she snagged eight rebounds. But it was Patricia Smith who was awarded the Dino player of the game with seven assists, eight points and a pair of steals.

The team plays Park City on the Dec. 23 before returning home for a match-up with Wasatch on Jan.. 2. Their game will begin at 5:15 and the boy's will be playing Canyonview at 7:00. It will be a rare double-header with the boys and girls team hitting the court on the same night.
