Submissions may be sent by regular mail, dropped off at the office at 845 East Main in Price or emailed to fyi@sunad.com.
All FYI news items are subject to editing. First and last names are required for telephone numbers.
The FYI sections are published on a space permitting basis.

Carbon County Triad - meets the first Wednesday of the month at 1:30 p.m. at the Price public safety dispatch center.
Members focus on law enforcement and aging programs to assist the elderly.

Helper's Christmas celebration - The schedule includes:
Christmas Carol ... More or Less performances, Dec. 19 to Dec. 20 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. at the Rio Theatre.
Advance tickets may be purchased at Balance Rock Cafe.

New Year's Eve dance - will be presented from 9 p.m. until midnight at the senior citizens center in Price.
Residents of all ages are welcome to attend the event, featuring Music of the Heart.
The activity will include refreshments, party hats and noise makers.
Donations are suggested.

Relay for Life - The kick off for the 2009 event is planned Jan. 6 at 6:30 p.m. The relay is slated next June.

Learn to speak, understand English - Small group sessions are scheduled Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. at the LDS Church located at 150 South 500 East in Price.

Gallery East - Hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Immunization clinic hours - Clinics are scheduled at Southeastern Utah Health District Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Women's cancer screening - Women 50 years of age or older may qualify for free breast and cervical cancer exams and mammograms.
Women ages 40 to 49 may qualify for a low-cost exam.

Free legal clinics - Utah Legal Services has scheduled free clinics the second and fourth Monday of the month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 7th District Court complex, located at 149 East 100 South in Price.
Residents should bring all pertinent documents pertaining to legal questions.

Carbon County Animal Shelter - AVID chip pet identification is available at the shelter.
Hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Carbon County RSVP - Residents who would like to lend a helping hand or need the assistance of volunteers may contact the Price RSVP program at 637-9118 or call the East Carbon office.

Carbon County Family Support and Children's Justice Center - offers crisis care for families with children from infants to 11 years old.
The crisis nursery is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Residents may use the nursery for respite, doctor and mental health appointments, court appearances, medical emergencies, family crisis, support meetings, divorce classes and to escape domestic violence.
Parenting classes are scheduled Thursday at 1:30 p.m.

Child care resource and referral - For information on reserving a spot at upcoming child care provider orientation classes, local residents may contact Avis Burrows at 636-2355.Applications for startup grants are available at the agency's office at CEU.

Price library - Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Story time is scheduled Monday at 11 a.m. for toddlers, Tuesday and Wednesday at 5 p.m. and Thursday at 1 p.m.
English as a second language classes are Monday and Thursday at 6 p.m. Basic literacy classes are scheduled as needed.

Second Chance Wildlife Rehabilitation - is a non-profit group dedicated to the care of orphaned, injured or ill wildlife.

The group needs a volunteer to organize and carry out fundraising events.

Castle Country Habitat for Humanity - is accepting applications for homes from eligible candidates. Donations may be sent to PO Box 724, Price, UT 84501.
