Local sculptor readies prehistoric artwork for Eccles park
Cliff Green poses with his 11-foot tall sculpture of a prehistoric short-faced bear. The bear is being readied for transport to the Eccles Dinosaur Park in Ogden, where the artwork will be placed permanently.
The sculpture took more than four months to complete and countless hours to paint and sculpt, commented Green. He has been commissioned by facilities throughout the United States, from the College of Eastern Utah to the Discovery Channel. The bear's remains were found at the dig site of the Huntington mammoth and, according to Green ,the large mammal was the apex predator of its time.
