Emergency service personnel participate in disability awareness activities using wheelchairs, scooters and lift equipment. Participants were given a chance to use goggles that mimic visual impairments or blindness and the group also utilized ear muffs to simulate hearing impairments. In addition, individuals with disabilities were available to answer questions. Local community organizations may schedule similar demonstrations by contacting the Active Re-Entry office.
