Busy fall season at Castle Valley Center adds to education
Greetings from Castle Valley Center
The staff and students are off to another great year at the Castle Valley Center.
A highlight for the year was our annual Halloween Hayride sponsored by the Price Elks Lodge. The Elks have been sponsoring this hayride for 22 years.
Our students and staff along with family members were invited to participate in this event. The evening was warm and the atmosphere fun and exciting for the approximately 100 participants just prior to Halloween. We appreciate the Price Elks Club and the major support they are to our community.
Another activity we have been involved with this fall is a number of Eagle Scout projects completed by students attending Castle Valley Center.
Our school's parent group organization sponsors Troop 855 of the Boy Scouts of America. With the guidance of staff, many of our scout age students participated in completing these important projects. The students made a gate to keep young students from leaving the playground area and getting into the bus zone and the street without supervision. Next they built a sidewalk for bus students to get from their bus to the main sidewalk during the winter months when snow is on the ground. These two projects will be a great help to make our school grounds safe for students and the community as they visit Castle Valley Center.
Four additional Eagle Scout projects have been completed during the past year. A dog house for the animal shelter, hygiene kits for distribution in areas where disasters have occurred, collecting books for the Children's Justice Center in Price and making quilts for the newborns in need in our local area.
We at Castle Valley Center want our community members to know how much we appreciate all their support and encourage them to visit us any time.
We also would like to thank the Sun Advocate for allowing us to publish this article in the paper. We appreciate the support the Sun Advocate gives to all our local schools.
