College of Eastern Utah public safety officials and FBI agents are currently investigating theft of the campus's automatic teller machine. The machine, located near the western doorway of the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center, was stolen on Nov. 9 between 7 and 11:30 p.m., according to CEU Director of Public Safety James Prettyman.

Prettyman reported that the ATM was recovered on the morning of Nov. 11 by CEU and Carbon County Sheriff's officials at approximately 8:30 a.m.

The college public safety official further stated that he was not at liberty to disclose the amount of money contained in the machine at the time of the theft or the current status of the investigation. He did however, report that a press release concerning the matter would be forthcoming on Nov. 17.

Further details will be provided in the November 18, 2008 publication.
