HUNSTANTON, England - Loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, James Hislop, age 81, passed away suddenly Nov. 11, 2008 at his home in Hunstanton, England.
Jim was born and raised in Scotland. In the 1950s, he earned a degree in mining engineering. He worked in various coal mines in Scotland and Wales as deputy manager and manager. He later moved to England and worked for Gullick Dobson.
In 1971, Jim immigrated to the U.S. and worked as a sales engineer for Joy Mining and Machinery. The last 10 years of his career were spent at UP daughter, Barbara (Kevin) Elliott, Surrey, England; sons, Andrew W. Hislop, Henderson, Nev., and Richard A. (Bonnie) Hislop, Price; sister, Helen Collins, Boston, Mass.; grandchildren, Victoria (Ben) Bispham, James (Heather) Hislop, Alisdair Elliott and Jacqueline Hislop; sister-in-law, Noni Hislop, Scotland; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother, David Hislop; and brother-in-law, Bob Collins.
