The only thing at stake for either team in the Thursday night's match-up between Carbon and Delta on the volleyball court was a mission for each team. For the Dinos, it was to finish region play undefeated again.

For Delta is was a chance to knock the girls from Carbon down a peg. Only one team could meet their goal. The Dinos topped the Rabbits 25-19, 19-25, 29-27 and 25-18 to end their region play at 10-0.

The Rabbits showed up hungry for a win and ready to play. Carbon knew what they had to do to finish off strong. They showed what they were made of in game one and made it look like it would be a short night for the crowd.

But Delta was not about to roll over. They grabbed the momentum early in game two and stayed on top for most of the game. The Rabbits were the better team in game two.

For game three both teams took it up a notch and it was a battle royal. The Rabbits led again as the game drew on. Just when things looked dire for the Dinos, they tied it up. After that neither team could put together two points to finish off the other. Finally tied at 27, Carbon was able to steal the win and put themselves back in position to take the match.

Even down two games to one, Delta was determined to steal the match. Game four stayed nip and tuck. Tied at 16, Carbon went on a run that put the match away. They gave the serve up only once more as they found the force and took control to end things. This night the celebrating was not to be denied as the Lady Dinos gathered together to revel in what they had achieved.

Britni Greenwood was a monster with 27 kills and 14 defensive digs. Joy Malone added 19 kills. Julia Potts helped the cause with 49 set assists and four service aces throughout the match. Brittany Gustas led the team with 17 defensive digs.

As the team approaches the state meet at Utah Valley University's Makay Center next Thursday they know they have their work cut out for them. But they know they will be ready.

At this time it looks like their first round opponent would be Waterford. Game time will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday with game two at 6:15 pm if they win.
