After an emotional match against North Sanpete, the carbon girl's volleyball team struggled a bit to get their intensity up against Emery, but they played good enough to sweep the Spartans in three 25-18, 25-15, and 25-22.

This puts the Dinos 11-4 overall on the season and they move into the number two ranking spot under arch rival Morgan in 3A play.

Coach Cristin Johnson was just happy to have another win under their belt as they make their way through region action. "We didn't play our best and we kinda of got sloppy at the end of each game. But we got the win and I'm happy with that. After North Sanpete, it was hard for them to keep up that type of intensity and it showed."

Joy Malone did have one of her better games this season, posting 13 kills. Britni Greenwood had a solid game with eight kills and nine defensive digs.

Brittany Gustas was sharp with 16 defensive digs. Alexis Oliver found her serve and dished up six service aces in the match.

Next up for the Dinos is a home match Tuesday night against Salem Hills with varsity play beginning at 7 pm.
