After winning their region golf match at Emery's Millsite golf course last week, Carbon's youth golfers came home to compete in the first annual Roy Nikas/Price Insurance Junior Tournament.

The event at the Carbon Country Club was a major success, according to Carbon Head Pro Tom King.

"There was a rather small field but all players had a great time and great bacon cheeseburger at the snack bar," quipped King.

The winning golfers in the 14 and under bracket are:

First - Kody Quarnberg with a score of 86.

Second - Robbie Etzel with a core of 96.

Third - Mike Jensen with a core of 120.

In the 15 and older bracket:

Corbin Black took first with a score of 76.

Justin Child took second with a score of 82.

And Geoff Vogel brought home third with a 84.

Additionally, last with there was a hole in one at the course. According to King, it was made Sean Burt on hole number six from the white tees at 145 yards and witnessed by Terry Gleave.
