What a great month for baseball in Carbon County.

First, Cal Ripkin baseball gamesawere played in Price during the Fourth of July weekend. The players came from all over Utah and they played great.

The coaches worked well with the players and the umpires did a wonderful job on calls and keeping control of the games. I heard no complaints from anyone about the officiating.

Then the Carbon 14-year-old Babe Ruth team won the state championship on July 18. They will now play in California for a title. The win at state was great for everyone involved. Every player should be praised for a job well done.

Let's hope they win in California in the world series.
