MOAB - Anne Marie Putz Peternell, age 93, died July 1, 2008 in Sonora, Calif.
Anne was born Nov. 15, 1915 and raised in Rock Springs, Wyo. She graduated from Rock Springs High School 1932. She married Frank Peternell in 1937 and lived in the Rock Springs area until 1954.
After spending a year in West Virginia, the family relocated to Utah. They resided in the East Carbon area for eight years, then moved to Moab, where she lived until 2002.
Anne was a mother and homemaker.
In 2003, she established residency in an assisted living home in Sonora, Calif.
Early this year, Anne had three heart attacks that required her to be moved to a longterm care center until the time of her death.
Anne is survived by her two sons, Frank (Crystal) Peternell, Arnold, Calif.; and John (Pamelynn) Peternell, Lacey, Wash.; one sister, Helen Chadey of Rock Springs, Wyo.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 1985; three brothers and four sisters.
There will be a rosary and vigil service July 14 at 7 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Moab. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 15, at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Moab.
