Carbon County residents got busy showing their support for the fight against cancer, raising more than $64,000 to date. Online donations accepted through August. Below are the totals raised by the top six teams in this year's event.

  1. A Salute to Joe - $15,587
  2. Board of Realtors - $7,454
  3. Castleview Hospital - $5,838
  4. St. Anthony's Church - $3,538
  5. Southeastern Utah Health Dept. - $3,178
  6. Pinnacle High School - $2,415

The total raised by all 21 teams is $43,652.83 and Vickie Marrelli raised $5,925, the most for an individual.

• Emerald City/Salute to Joe won the award for best camp, most team money raised and individual with most money raised.

• Teams were down from 32 to 21, however, this year's relay raised nearly the same amount of money as last year.

• Four teams were inadvertently left out of the pre-event insert in the newspaper, they are: A Salute to Joe (family team), Carbon Emery Board of Realtors, Judi Bishop's honor to Bonnie Robertson and the McGinnis family and friends joined Questar/Bucyrus

• Next year's theme will be "Back to the Future."

• It's never to early to sign up for next year. Any future team registering before Aug. 31 will be able to register for $50 instead of $100.
