Carbon High Class of 1953 reunion - is planned Aug. 8 through Aug. 10 at the Price Greenwell Inn. For details or to check the classmates list, residents may contact Shirley Spensko at 472-5596.

Carbon High Class of 1998 reunion - The 10-year reunion is slated June 14. Graduates and community members are encouraged to e-mail contact information to chsclassof98@live.com. People may also contact Melinda (Brady) Curtis at 801-971-7291 with information.

Carbon High-Notre Dame Class of 1968 reunion - Registration deadline is May 15. For information, call Barbara Jewkes at 472-5680.

Hospice memorial - Rocky Mountain Hospice will honor all patients provided care during 2007 on April 19 at 1 p.m. at the senior citizens center in Price. For information or to RSVP, residents may contact the office at 637-8070.

Food handlers classes - Two-hour sessions are scheduled April 16, May 20 and June 18 at 9 a.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the health department in Price. Classes will also be taught April 17, May 22 and June 19 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the health district in Castle Dale as well as April 2 at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at Green River City Hall. Learn to speak, understand English - Small group sessions are scheduled Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. at the LDS Church located at 150 South 500 East in Price.

Gallery East student art show - will be on display through April 28. The opening reception is April 11 at 6 p.m. Located on the CEU campus, the gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cinco de' Mayo - The celebration will be presented May 10 at the East Carbon Viking Park. The event will include games, food and entertainment.

Immunization clinic hours - Clinics are scheduled at Southeastern Utah Health District Monday through Thursday from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Women's cancer screening - Women 50 years of age or older may qualify for a free breast and cervical cancer exams and mammograms. For information, call the public health district at 637-3671. Women ages 40 to 49 may qualify for a low-cost exam.

Free legal clinics - Utah Legal Services has scheduled free clinics the second and fourth Monday of the month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 7th District Court complex, located at 149 East 100 South in Price. Residents should bring all pertinent documents pertaining to legal questions. For information, residents may contact the agency toll-free at 1-800-662-1563.

Carbon County Animal Shelter - AVID chip pet identification is available at the shelter. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Carbon County RSVP - Residents who would like to lend a helping hand or need the assistance of volunteers may contact the Price RSVP program at 637-9118 or call the East Carbon office.

Carbon County Family Support and Children's Justice Center - offers crisis care for families with children from infants to 11 years old. The crisis nursery is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Residents may use the nursery for respite, doctor and mental health appointments, court appearances, medical emergencies, family crisis, support meetings, divorce classes and to escape domestic violence. Parenting classes are Thursday at 1:30 p.m. For information, call the center at 637-0281.

Child care resource and referral - For information on reserving a spot at upcoming child care provider orientation classes, local residents may contact Avis Burrows at 636-2355. Applications for startup grants are available at the office at CEU.

Price library - Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and closed Sunday. Story time is scheduled Monday at 11 a.m. for toddlers, Tuesday and Wednesday at 5 p.m. and Thursday at 1 p.m. Girls group activities are planned April 9 and April 23. English as a second language classes are Monday and Thursday at 6 p.m. Basic literacy classes are scheduled as needed. For information, residents may contact the library at 636-3188.

Helper library - Hours are Monday through Thursday, noon to 6 p.m.; Friday, noon to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The library offers Internet accessible computers and will obtain books for patrons through the inter-facility loan program. For information, contact the library at 472-5601.

CEU Library - Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Hours vary during holiday weekends and school breaks. For information, contact the library at 613-5209.

Carbon Family Resource Center - Story time is Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. The free lending library open to the community includes items for children, teens, parents and grandparents.
CFRC is located at Castle Valley Center, 755 N. Cedar Hills Drive, Price. Contact the center for hours at 650-3830.

Rape crisis hot line - Rape or domestic violence victims in the Carbon-Emery County area may contact the local 24-hour crisis line toll-free at 1-866-894-8610.

Carbon County Humane Society - offers clinics the second Tuesday of the month at 5 S. Carbon Avenue, Price. Contact the society at 637-0588 for appointments.

Second Chance Wildlife Rehabilitation - is a non-profit group dedicated to the care of orphaned, injured or ill wildlife. The group needs adult volunteers. Contact Debbie Pappas at 650-3441 for information.

Castle Country Habitat for Humanity - is accepting applications for homes from eligible candidates. For information, local residents contact the organization at 637-9701.

Veterans

Veterans employment representative - is available Monday through Friday at the department of workforce services, 475 West Price River Drive. The representative will answer questions about benefits and assist with applications, employment and veterans issues. For information, contact Steve Wilkinson at 636-2343.

Marine Corps League - meets the second Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Price American Legion Hall, 27 North 100 West. Contact David Brewer at 472-8757.

Helper American Legion Auxiliary - meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. Call Pat Scherschel at 472-8203.

VFW - Post hours are Monday - Saturday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Meetings are the second Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. Games are on Sunday at 1 p.m.

VFW Ladies Auxiliary - meets the second Friday of the month at 3 p.m.

Price American Legion Post 3 - meets the first and third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at 27 North 100 West.

American Legion Auxiliary - meets the third Tuesday of the month. Contact Veloy Wilder at 637-0290.

Non-denominational Bible services - are scheduled Sunday at 5 p.m. and Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Log Palace in Price during April. No collections will be taken.

Green River St. Michael the Archangel, Wednesday at 6 p.m..
