Support groups

Recovery classes - are scheduled Monday to Friday at the Golden Rule Mission in Helper from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Classes include relapse prevention, Big Book, 12 steps, traditions, spirituality and life skills.

Price Recovery group - meets Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the CEU computer building.

Reach to Recovery - The American Cancer Society program matches a diagnosed breast cancer patient with a trained survivor who can answer questions and address concerns.

MS support group- meets the first Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the conference room at Southeastern Utah Health District in Price.

Grieving parent support group - For parents who have lost a child, the group meets the first Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Castleview classroom.

FUTURES - The Carbon County NAMI affiliate, a support group developed for families who have children with challenges, meets the first and third Wednesday of the month.

Scooter & Wheelchair Users ADA support group - meets the second Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m. at the housing authority, 251 S. 1600 East, Price.

Domestic violence support groups - are scheduled weekly. For information, call the 24-hour crisis line at 637-6589.

Grief support group - Open to all residents who have lost loved ones, the group meets the second Wednesday of the month at 3:30 p.m. at Active Re-Entry, 10 South Fairgrounds Road.

Women's cancer support group - meets the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at Castleview's classroom.

Life Line pregnancy assistance and support - provides alternatives to abortion for women with unplanned pregnancies. Services include testing, verification, referrals to community resources and counseling. The 24-hour crisis line number is 636-0700.

Look Good, Feel Better - The American Cancer Society program helps women address the appearance related side effects of treatment. The group meets the first Monday of the month at 6 p.m. at Castleview Hospital.

Cancer resource center - Volunteers are needed to staff the American Cancer Society information center at Castleview Hospital. Hours are flexible and training is free of charge.

Newborns in Need- Residents are encouraged to donate baby items for needy infants in Carbon County. For information, contact Carol Miller at 637-3743.

Teen parenting class - is scheduled Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Lighthouse. Thirty-six hours will equal one elective credit.

Veterans

Veterans employment representative - is available Monday through Friday at the department of workforce services, 475 West Price River Drive.
The representative will answer questions about benefits and assist with applications, employment and veterans issues.

Marine Corps League - meets the second Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Price American Legion Hall, 27 North 100 West. For membership information, contact David Brewer at 472-8757.

Helper American Legion Auxiliary - meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. For information, contact Pat Scherschel at 472-8203.

VFW - Post hours are Monday - Saturday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Meetings are the second Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. Games are on Sunday at 1 p.m. For information, call the post at 637-7424.

VFW Ladies Auxiliary - meets the second Friday of the month at 3 p.m.

Price American Legion Post 3 - meets the first and third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at 27 North 100 West.

Desert Edge Christian Chapel - Sunday schedule includes worship service at 10 a.m.; Sunday School at 11 a.m. Youth meet Monday at 6 p.m. AWANA meets Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Bethel Spanish Assembly of God - Worship is at 9:45 a.m., followed by Sunday School at 11 a.m. Prayer meetings are Sunday and Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Ascension St. Matthew's - The Lutheran and Episcopal congregation meets for Sunday School at 9:30 a.m., followed by services at 10:30 a.m.

Grace Baptist Church - Schedule includes Sunday School, 10 a.m.; morning service, 11 a.m.; and afternoon service, 6 p.m. Wednesday is Bible study at 6 p.m.

Church of God of Prophecy - Sunday services include Sunday School, 10 a.m.; worship, 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Bible study is Tuesday at 7 p.m. Prayer meeting is Friday at 7 p.m.

Freedom Christian Fellowship - Sunday services include Bible study, 9:45 a.m.; worship, 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday includes mission kids, 5 p.m.; and prayer meeting, 6:30 p.m.

East Carbon Community Church - Sunday schedule includes prayer meeting, 9 a.m.; Sunday School for all ages, 10 a.m.; and worship, 11 a.m. Youth group meets Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Carbon -Emery Church of Christ - Sunday schedule includes classes, 10 a.m.; and worship at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday classes are at 7 p.m.
