Senator Bennett endorses McCain, calls for Huckabee to drop out now

On Feb. 27 U.S. Senator Bob Bennett endorsed Senator John McCain's candidacy for president and called on Gov. Mike Huckabee to withdraw.

Bennett issued the following statement:

"After Super Tuesday, it was clear to me that John McCain had won the Republican nomination fair and square. My candidate, Mitt Romney, withdrew urging all of his supporters to follow him and unite behind John McCain. That was sound advice and I have followed it. Now I call on Mike Huckabee to do the same. John McCain deserves time to unite the party and prepare for November."

Price city distibutes coupons, teaches elementary students to conserve energy

Price city distributed coupons for a free compact fluorescent light bulb to all Price area elementary school children. The class that redeemed the most coupons and saved the most energy won a community contest.

The winners were Castle Heights Elementary students in the class shared by Jeanette Lloyd and Marilyn Bell.

The class will receive a prizes from Price city to be presented on March 19 at 10:30 a.m. The award presentation will be hosted by Price city officials who will be on hand to thank the students for their hard work toward a more energy conservative community.

Price City Library invites public to spend the day o' the green with staff members

There are many ways to show appreciation for the one day of the year that celebrates the Irish among us. Some of them could get you a traffic ticket, but not this one.

The Friends of the Price City Library are hosting a luncheon for a St. Patrick's Day. The luncheon will be in the Peace Gardens on March 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu is lamb stew, salad, soda bread and cake - $5 for adults and $3 for children.
